Fall Is Here -- And So Are Some New Offerings at CSMD!

The Summer is over and Fall is here!

In addition to cooler weather, back to school, changing leaves, and football, the Fall means thinking differently about our skin.

While we still need to wear sunscreen every day, the cooler weather allows us to better optimize our anti-aging skincare routines. In the Fall, we can think about getting back on our retinoids and our alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), and maybe plan a laser procedure to get rid of some of our sun damage.

This Fall, we are happy to let you know about some of our latest offerings at CompleteSkinMD:

AcuPulse - The AcuPulse is an ablative fractional CO2 resurfacing laser which promotes skin rejuvenation and collagen production through precisely controlled injury to the skin. This laser effectively treats deep wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars, traumatic scars, sun damage, moderate laxity and some benign growths of the skin (i.e. syringomas, seborrheic keratoses). Relative to non-ablative fractional resurfacing (which we also offer), this laser has a more prolonged recovery time but achieves more significant results.

Kybella – Kybella is a non-surgical injection for reducing moderate to severe fat on the upper neck, otherwise known as a "double chin." The injection contains a naturally occurring molecule which dissolves fat, leaving all other cells healthy and intact. We are proud to be one of the few centers in NYC offering this safe and innovative approach to rejuvenate the neck and jawline.

PRP (platelet rich plasma) - PRP is a natural product created from your own body that can be injected to improve the appearance of wrinkles or scars of the face, neck, chest and hands. A small amount of blood is drawn from you and placed in a sterile tube that is spun down in a centrifuge to separate the different components of the blood. Red and white blood cells are divided from the platelets and the plasma (the clear fluid). This plasma now contains a higher than normal number of platelets and is called platelet rich plasma, or PRP. PRP is a source of “growth factors” that can trigger production of new collagen and thereby naturally rejuvenate the skin.

Finally, Jordana, our medical aesthetician, has fine-tuned her customizable facials to meet your changing skin's needs.

Please call the office to schedule your appointment, and look for information about our Fall Skin Care Symposium coming later in the season.

Happy Fall!
